On Being an Orthodontist
Dentistry has always been my passion and orthodontics has become my home. It is a great honor to meet and care for so many remarkable people and to be part of their lives during a pivotal time. Whether treating a child, teen, or adult, my focus is always on what is best for the individual. I determine which treatment will give them the most comfortable and efficient experience and deliver the most incredible smile.
As we progress through the treatment, I see the changes in patients. Each becomes more comfortable with the appearance of their teeth, and that translates to feeling more at ease around others. By the time we’re finished, each of my patients has a straight, healthy smile and a feeling of confidence that they can accomplish anything!
Education, Professional Affiliations, and Continuing Education
I graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with my undergraduate degree, followed by dental school at Meharry Medical College. I completed a general practice residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and worked in general dentistry for several years. Orthodontics, though, called to me. I returned to my education, at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, where I completed my residency and specialty training.
Currently, I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the American and Georgia Dental Associations.
These professional organizations offer a wide-range of continuing educational opportunities; I eagerly take advantage of any and every chance to further my knowledge. I am a lifelong learner and constantly seek to discover better and more efficient ways to help patients. By attending lectures and meetings, taking courses, and reading journals, I keep abreast of the latest developments. In expanding my knowledge base, I ensure each patient receives the ideal treatment and enjoys beautiful results.

Being part of Family-Braces, LLC is incredible. We are in constant motion: learning, creating, doing, and changing. We have the experience to know fundamentally what works along with the wisdom to want to learn more in order to be more efficient with our patients’ time.

Beyond the Office
Originally from Arkansas, I have come to love living in the Atlanta area. When I go home in the evening, it’s to spend time with my husband and three active children. We love exploring Atlanta and all the city has to offer, as much as we enjoy our time together as a family.
